The Kal Small/Herb Neal Awards

For the past 27 years on the last day of the Club"s Junior Tennis Academy Program, awards are presented to the most promising girl and boy tennis player. The winners are selected by the club pros and their names are engraved on a plaque prominently displayed on our clubhouse porch.  Winners also receive an individual plaque presented between sessions on the last day by a PTC official. These awards were started by Don Adams and Don Lynch after Kal and Herb passed away They both were good friends with Kal and Herb and funded this award every year. With Don Adams now retired from the club. Don Lynch continues to fund these awards.

The Arthur Worden Memorial Scholarship Award

Every year for the past 40 years, the Pacquenac Tennis Club awards athletic scholarships to two PTHS Seniors who plan to continue their education and who exemptify a high degree of sportsmanship, scholarship and good citizenship.Both winners, one boy and one girl must have participated on the PTHS tennis team for all four years. This program was started in 1979. a year after long time active and permanent member, Arthur Worden passed away. He contributed so many significant things for such a long period of time to the club that members wanted to memorialize his name in perpetuity.

All members then voted to establish tihis award in his name. Originally, the scholarship was $200 and later increased to $400. Qualified seniors must apply in February after the Guidance Dept. sends out the criteria. After resumes  are reviewed, a club representative(s) selects the winners. These awards are then presented at the High School's Awards and Scholarship Program night in May or June of each year.
